Option 0: Call a mulligan, redo the whole front end.

Do we all still hate the face
now that
we are seeing them on
the road every day
? The front end doesn’t photograph well, but it looks OK in person. I think the bigger issue is that the top of the hood is just too high. There is too much metal between the top of the tire well and the top of the hood. They could clean it up in a facelift, but it will take a lot more than just fascia tweaks like the video.

I agree, the hood height is what kills it for me. its probably because the pushrod engine is so tall......
Seriously chevy, get your shit together.

I saw one of the red Rams on the lot last weekend. It’s been a long time since I did a double-take when I spotted a truck, but that red truck in the sea of black and silver trucks really caught my eye.

What you did there...
I see it. The 2.7L option is a DOHC - maybe it is tall enough that they needed the height to fit it... you know that you can get half an MPG better than the 5.3.

Yup. Even the previous gen hoods are SO TALL. I don’t get it. They look just as shitty in person.

None of them.

This exactly. Saw one in person looked good. Much better than it photographs.

I never had a problem with the front. The back on the other hand... the taillights are just too narrow.

yeah

I think I’m down with one, breaking the very dark grille with some color/
However, I’ll take option D - Buy the Ram 1500. After seeing both in person, the Chevy isn’t terrible, but still look like an incohesive mess.

There. I fixed it.

It’s a tricky thing with trucks - you want them narrow so you have a nice big tailgate opening. Still, Ford does a better job by wrapping them around the bed so they seem bigger.

not out here yet

I really like option #1 too. The biggest thing that bugs me is the vent on the sides of the bumper. If they could do option #1 plus getting rid of the vents. Then sold!

The pushrod engine is actually pretty dang compact compared to most other V8s on the market. The hood height is all for show.

Don’t you guys have a couple of small companies that import full size American trucks, convert them to RHD and sell for $150k+?

Paint the lower chin and the crossbar. Problem solved.
If you want the off-roader trim, that’s perfectly fine, you can have an unpainted chin for an extra $200 because that’s how automakers work.
